Good day,

This email is being sent as a reminder that all Massage Therapists in Alaska MUST have a current unrestricted State license to practice in Alaska. It has come to the Boards attention, due to the increase in investigations for unlicensed practice; that some Chiropractic businesses may not be aware of this fact.

To see if your employee is a licensed professional, please search on the following link:

https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/cbp/Main/Search/Professional

  1. Change "Program" to Massage Therapists
  2. Check the "current only" box
  3. Enter their last name
  4. Click the "search" button

If the massage therapist in your office is not licensed, they must STOP practicing right away and contact the Boards staff, Dawn Hannasch (907) 465-3811 to inquire about the status of their application.

Thank you for your time and attention to this very important information. If you have any questions regarding the Alaska Massage Therapist license, please contact Dawn and she will be able to assist you.

Respectfully,

The Alaska Board of Massage Therapists
