NBCE'S PART III STANDARD SETTING COMMITTEE MEETS
Greeley, Colo.—The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners’ (NBCE) Written Clinical Competency Examination, or Part III, Standard Setting Committee met on June 20-21 at the NBCE headquarters in Greeley. The group was welcomed by NBCE District I Director Dr. Daniel Côté who serves as the chair of the board’s Exam Development Committee.
The Part III Standard Setting Committee is a team of chiropractic experts who recommended the cut (or minimum passing score) on the NBCE Part III Examination.
To provide the basis for the group’s recommendation, committee members took a recent NBCE exam. Then the group considered the nine clinical areas addressed in Part III and described what a competent entry-level chiropractor should know in each area. The final recommended passing score was based upon the individual input of all nine committee members.
Committee members are selected based on their expert knowledge of and experience in the chiropractic profession. Those attending the workshop were:
  • James J. Badge, D.C.
State of Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners
  • Katie Burns Ryan, D.C.
